So, I finally made a post on my social media coming out as a trans woman, and honestly… I think it went really well.

Pretty much all the reactions have been positive and supportive. There was maybe one slightly off comment on a reel saying “I looked better as a guy,” but it wasn’t even from someone I know, and it didn’t really affect me that much.

What really surprised me is the amount of support from people I actually know. I genuinely didn’t expect it. It still feels a bit unreal, like I’m kind of dreaming.

If I had to sum it up: things didn’t go great with my dad, but it wasn’t terrible either. With pretty much everyone else, it’s been really good.

I was especially scared about work, but my boss’s main concern was basically: “so… what’s going to happen with your wedding?” 😅 (very much like: “I don’t care how you identify, just don’t cancel the wedding” lol).

Overall, I just feel really relieved and grateful. I was expecting the worst, and instead I got a lot of kindness.

To be fair. I’ve seen the photos you’ve posted. It’s possible most people already assumed you were a woman. I mean, that’s the assumption I’d make if I saw you.

That’s awesome! I’m happy for you!

I’m a little confused as to why people you don’t know are commenting on your social media posts. You may want to lock that down before it becomes a problem.

The wedding thing makes sense. If you’re in a relationship, people just assume it’s going to be a deal-breaker for your partner… while usually your partner has known the longest.
