So I found a really cute sundress I would like to buy, but I would like to increase my bust size a little to fill it out. I found some silicone bra inserts on amazon, both individual and ones that are connected in the Middle. Do any of you have any experience in this department?
Any advice or experiences even tangentially related would be appreciated!
Thanks

I bought a pair of “bra buds” from Unclockable that feel nice. (edit: I checked and they’re available on Amazon if you don’t want to order from Unclockable, however I recommend getting them directly so bezos doesn’t get a cut)
I’m a heavier gal so I already had a little extra breast tissue to begin with, but they give me a nice lift with an underwire. They also fill a bralette quite nicely, especially if it has an insert pocket.
I am currently girlmoding (minus makeup, still no clue about that stuff) at the park with some LGBT friends and I took them out because it’s a bit toasty and the sweat between the silicone and my skin isn’t great. Antiperspirants from now on I guess… Sorry tmi…😳
I also have some foam “push up” bra cups from my spouse’s “old bra” collection, I think it was a Victorias secret bra… Anyways I cut the straps off since they’re too small for me anyway, and am using the foam cup as an insert. It gives me a 2 cup bump and feels natural, and everyone is assuring me it looks fine.
I also got told I look like a 2004 mom 😂
I will definitely look into ‘bra buds’ and will try and find a bra or bralette with an insert pocket. I have a little bit to work with but definitely need a bump up. Don’t worry about the tmi, that’s the kind of information I need. A foam cup inset sounds comfy for sure.
Thank you so much!
I am still using my spouse’s bras for the most part, and their chest is smaller than mine, so the stretchier sports bras allow me to kind of “pull myself in” and pinch a little cleavage together. It’s not a lot, but it’s enough to make a difference in form fitting clothes.
The foam WILL soak up sweat, so I wash them after every use where it heats up, just in case.
I haven’t used the chicken cutlett style inserts, but silicone breast forms are great for occasional use, especially with medical adhesive. The other option I’ve been using are knitted knockers, which if you know how to knit or crochet, you can make for the cost of materials. They’re good for day to day use because they let your skin breathe. With strategic placement, they can give a bit of a push up effect too, but that only started working for me once I had enough boob to push up on.
This sounds like a great excuse to learn knitting, thanks for the tip!
I will say, try some cheap yarn rather than one from their recommended list if you want to try knit or crochet breast forms for the first pair. If you end up not liking them, you’ve spent less on yarn, and cheap yarn is generally bigger than what they recommend, so it will take less rows and less time. I only crochet, so I’m not sure if you can do this with the knitted ones because they have a nipple, and you probably don’t want to look like your’re storing a peanut m&m in there 😆
LMFAO!!! I will definitely keep this in mind, I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to forget it!
Mmmm not necessarily inserts to increase size, but I did use Cakes Body nipple covers in-place of a bra until super recently. They do have a volume version, but I’m not too familiar with it! I found them super convenient, easy to maintain/clean, and they honestly held in place much better than I expected! There were days (hot ones) where sweat would cause them to slip around, but that was mostly with the non-adhesive version.
I like how you’re addressing this too! I remember having a conversation with my gf about how so many dresses and tops fit slightly odd on me, and she pointed out that many women’s tops are designed to be worn with bras or to accommodate a particular type of breast shape. I tried those tops/dresses on with a bra, and was like ohhh I see it now!
Thank you! I’ll have to look at those as an option.
Yea, I’m not really looking to pass right now I just want the dress to be flattering and look right. I’ve had only a couple dresses earlier in life (which I sadly burned due to self doubt and an aggressive repression campaign) and one fit really well, while the other left something to be desired. Which really sucked, I loved the color and how the bottom half looked and flowed. The one I want now is just so lovely I can’t not buy it but definitely looks like it will desire something.
