i’m torn between “agender with magical nonsexual reproduction” and “all hermaphrodites, fully aware of this, and violently homosexual” like bortus and klyden

I like the idea of fantastic race, especially the one living multiple century having a more magic way of reproduction.

I read about a version (don’t remember where) of dwarven reproduction where two (or more) dwarves lovingly carve their offspring from stone and then dwarven magic brings it to life. Therefore gender didn’t matter at all

In the TTRPG Troika, dwarves reproduce asexually through sculpting another dwarf and one of the character backgrounds was a “derivative dwarf” who was so poorly made that they had a stealth bonus against dwarves as they did their best to ignore their existence entirely. Like a whole race composed entirely of art snobs

damn, i love this. now i feel like a basic bitch for even assuming dwarves would reproduce sexually or even have something such a sex or gender

I also love this to, sounds like a wonderful and awesome way to live, I wonder how much better a world would be and a life in that world be too, plus being shorter make the world larger and more room for even more awesome dwarves 👍

That’s official DnD lore for Azer.

Made, Not Born. Azers don’t reproduce. They are each crafted from bronze by another azer and imbued with a portion of the crafter’s inner flame. Each azer is sculpted with unique features. This crafting process limits the growth of the azer population and is the primary reason that these creatures remain rare.

I’d bet dwarven life would be cool if you cpuld have a good long lifespan with good worklife balance, creating awesome legendary weapons for enjoyment
