It’s not an explicitly pornographic term over there iirc. I think the full word (futanari) literally means ‘intersex’, ‘hermaphrodite’, or some approximation of that general idea.

Still an interesting choice for a cat name ofc. Maybe someone more familiar with the language and culture than myself will come along and give us a bit more context cause I am genuinely curious lol

Literal translation would be “two-being” but yes it’s used for hermaphrodite. The cat’s name is probably just “two”.

I vaguely recall “Fu” meaning “wind” or breeze. S If so, Futa might mean “feeling the breeze” or “moving with the wind” or “fart master”. Who knows.

It would make me really, really, really happy if his name was Fart Master.

          spoiler

I thought ‘kaze’ was wind? Ig it wouldn’t be too surprising to learn that they have different words for different kinds of wind or for wind during different seasons or something like that

Kami means god in Japanese. It also means hair. Kami Katze.

I’d love it too, but I may have made a faux pas in this case.
It’s quite possible Fu has nothing to do with wind and my mind screwed me over with its remembrance.

It’s kind of funny how none of you decided to just… search it up 😆 Futari = two people; futanari = two + shape; futa = two, second. This is what happens when people learn Japanese from hentai anime (I did too back in the day), lmao.

I put out an open invite to correct me/fill in the blanks because I enjoy learning from people more than I do from search engines. And I learned what little japanese I know from hentai manga and anime 🤓

Unless it’s some kind of contraction (which is possible), it most likely means “two” here.

it just means two, it’s less inherently noteworthy than 6 in sweden (literally “sex”)
