  • If we can find ways to put extra dollars in people’s pockets, particularly those low and middle-income earners who are doing it tough, then we’re prepared to do so.

God I hope its in the from of cash transfer. Just give people money, it’s fuckinf easy ans economically sound. In fact more evidence is coming forward that’s the best thing to do.

The hosuing is a problem not because of lack of money but because of artificially depressed supply. Buy land and reduction it. LVT. Stop the limit on floor level. So many things can be done, just increase supply. The only thing that happens in Australia is supply is kept low and demand is kept high with immigration, just means the land owners make more money.

Not having Australia Day is just stupid. Come on.

  • The propaganda coming from the left about immigration isn’t helping the issue either.

Refugees system was set up for something exactly like the Ukrainian war. Most people in Europe agree with that. They are neighbours, they have a lot of cultural simularities, they are literally at war and the come over for safety. But that system is being abused and people are using it as a means to migrate. Those “refugees” come over, don’t integrate have no interest in going back to their own country ever. They are just exploiting the system, that is the issue most people in Europe disagree with. But the left love to scream racism at the top of their lings when anyone points out any issues with that. The inability to open dialogue about that without the left closing it down as harsly and aggressively as possible isn’t helping because it groups all issues together.

Equally the migration system has been set up for some similar countries can share labour forces, and expertise can be transfered around the countries as well as capital. It is the idea that free trade makes everyone richer. The problem is that’s being exploited by the upper class. They are using that to reduce training to new staff and instead hiring overseas workers on a lower wage who are forced to deal with the crappy conditions. The local labour force has reduced wages, reduced on the job training and more unemployment. Sure GDP and even GDP per capita as an average might being going up but it doesn’t mean everyone is benefiting, it’s just a system to funnel money to the top with lower wages and higher rent and the lower classes struggle more because of it. Until the left can have an open and honest dialogue about that nothing will get fixed.

Yea the right are fucked, but when the left does nothing then they aren’t helping the people either.
