    I never even changed my name. Tanis then, Tanis now. No one even questioned it.

    I have one of those easily gender swappable names (like Sam), but I’m not sure I will/would want to do use it. Picking a whole new name seems part of the journey?

    Last trans girl I knew was called “Alexis” - the surname was even more posh Victorian! 😁

      Does that name have a feminine/gender neutral association in your language/culture? Feels like a Greek masculine name to me. As in: Alexis Tsipras, the (male) Greek prime minister.

        In most English speaking societies, it’s an almost exclusively female form of the name.
