I’m not really sure why.
Maybe, hanging out at one of the choke points of the house ensures he’ll get some interaction. He looks like an old kitty, maybe he needs some comforting.
She is an old cat - I got her as a kitten about sixteen years ago. I’ve got three cats and she’s the shyest - she’ll run away from any social interaction other than with me. That door is exactly across the hallway from where I sleep, though, so maybe you’re right about that! I did make sure to give her scritches right after taking this picture.
My cats do this sometimes. Nothing to be concerned about as far as I’m aware. My cats are happy and healthy!
Mine do it by the front and back door for the fresh air.
This particular door leads to my office, which is full of anything but fresh air.
used to have a cat that did this. he just wanted to be near me.
