Finally we put the pill and a little piece of pill pocket on the end of a straw, she held his mouth open, and I spitballed it in too far for him to get it out.
some of them will eat the cheese and then spit out the pill anyway though.

My dog used to be able to separate the pill from anything too so I finally just taught him to dry swallow the pill and get a treat after.
