For my little Chloe, it’s deli meat. I don’t know how she does it, but she always knows. I could go to the kitchen 10 times, and she wouldn’t react, but if I quietly make a sandwich and bring it to the living room to eat while watching TV, she’s right there, purring for her share. You can’t sneak it past her, she always knows.

We once had a whole family of cats - father, mother, and three kittens - and the one male kitten, Charlie, absolutely REVERED his father, Jake. He would often sit or lay next to his Papa, always taking the same position.
One of my favorite photos was when Jake was getting old, with his fur getting raggedy, and he was looking out a window, with Charlie next to him, in the same position, but with his front leg over his father’s shoulders, comforting him.
They’re both gone now, but I hope they are together, wherever they are now.
What a good girl!
Well then, in the interest of historical accuracy, which I usually adhere to in all other things except cat names, my guess would be that the J is pronounced like a Y.
I just like the sound of the other way better.
I’d just call them NEDJ-em, or Nedg, Probably Nedgy would get a lot of play, too. It doesnt have to be correct, its not a test in ancient Egyptian.
Im naming my next cat Nedjem!
