  • Yeah, this pretty much doubled my estrogen intake. As far as I can tell, estrogen monotherapy is really efficient, and at least in my part of the world, it’s very popular. There seems to be a consensus around me that anti-androgen are pretty much a mess of nasty side effects for very little results.

My antiandrogen did nothing to my testosterone levels, but it did kill my hunger. I could feel like my body needed food, but I never got the drive to eat. Also, it fucked up my liver. The gel gave me very little estrogen. I don’t think my body was reacting properly to it.

And my doctor is not a dummy. They’re specialized in trans issues. They actually have a diploma for it, which is kind of amazing. I’m lucky. So I told them this isn’t working out and they were like, what kind of problem? Let’s try something else. So we switched to this and it’s been working perfectly.

This pill melting under the tongue, or injections seems to be the most efficient way to do it as far as I can tell. It’s what most trans girls around me are on.

This is of course not medical advice. This is just my personal experience and my personal knowledge. I’m not a doctor. But truth be told, hormone replacement therapy doesn’t seem to be an exact science yet. Even for my doctor, it seems to be a work in progress and we’re still figuring out what’s the best way to do it. It seems that antiandrogen and estrogen gel are just standard protocol, but they’re not necessarily the most efficient way to do it from what I gather. :)
