Often it’s fear. They think if they’re a perfect, respectable minority, they can appeal to the kindness of queerphobes and win rights through sympathy. Sometimes it’s even trauma. Gay guy is used to being called a girl for his gayness, and is triggered to see a trans woman willingly taking that on. Or trans person is used to hearing helicopter copypastas and thinks otherkin are conservative trolls. In both cases, they’re used to being attacked with the idea of more marginalised queers, and think they can switch sides to the oppressor’s corner if they disavow the smaller minority

You see it even more often if you’re otherkin.

Its bias meter is broken. It doesn’t call unbiased stories unbiased, it calls centrist stories unbiased.

A mental illness or disorder is something bad. That’s part of the definition. Missing a limb is bad, so doctors think that wanting to lose a limb is bad. Being a woman isn’t bad, so doctors think wanting to be a woman isn’t bad. That’s why body identity disorder is a disorder, and being trans isn’t.

In 5E, every caster has a unique mechanical quirk. Wizards know spells, prepare spells and have spell slots, and they have the most. Clerics know every spell but prepare a limited number. Warlocks have the fewest spells and slots, but always cast at max level and get slots back on short rest, and can trade known spells on level up. Sorcerers get metamagic. Bard is a support caster who is also a rogue. Ranger is a support caster who is also a fighter. Druid is a support caster who is also a monster. And monk gets psionic spells that aren’t spells and don’t use spell slots.
