Had surgery a few days ago and last night woke up choking on some blood (expected, don’t worry) but in my wake up choking panic I spat it and phlegm and ugh all over this beautiful lady who’d been sleeping next to me. I then washed her off which I think she hated most of all.

But, she is a forgiving lady and eventually came back to cuddle later on this afternoon.

I will do my best to keep my blood inside and off of her tonight.

The common misconception that cats are cold hearted and solitary creatures is just utterly unfounded in my personal experience… Love them, and they will love you.

Oh yeah, fully agree. Even when she was angry with me she wanted to be nearby.

Agreed. The vast majority of cats just need to trust you and you’ll receive more love than you can handle. It’s about consent with them.

Which is why it’s a red flag if people say they don’t like cats. 9/10 they are not good people if they don’t get what they want.

I hope you are feeling better now! Your lovely and understanding friend will be there to offer purrs of encouragement.

Thank you, she absolutely has been. We just woke up from a multi hour nap together, no nap is as good as a nap next to a purring kitty.
