    Is that a piece of paper on the cake? Otherwise I have to wonder as to how the picture is made.

      You can order cakes with realistic pictures on them, they basically get “printed” on top of the icing with laser jet printers loaded with edible ink.

            Gorgeous. Seems pretty demanding on the decorator, however — both in labor and in moral dubiousness. Printing offloads the effort onto the customer, and allows photorealistic-ish pics. Can’t argue against the 3d factor, though.

              Hehehe, it’s all about how badly you want your filthy cake decoration to be in 3D. But all joking aside, you should be able to get those photo realistic cake at bakeries that do them - and often you can ask them to just print the pic for you on an icing sheet instead of making the whole cake - in case you want to make the cake yourself.
