    My adolescent cat has done this a few times. It’s 100% a fighting stance.

    Look, he’s got all four paws pointed towards his opponent, ready both to strike and defend.

    He hasn’t quite considered what’ll happen once he lifts any of them from the floor, of course, but that’s a problem for his future self.
