the image has the text “the illusion of choice” with a red a blue pill underneath, referencing The Matrix. the blue pill has “887 2” embossed on it and and the red pill has “Premarin” printed on it.\ [Transfem] [Non-binary]

  • Thanks so much for the excellent image description! Sadly most folks only put it in the alt text here which on most front ends only works for screen readers, and thus those that don’t need screen readers but need the image description for other reasons are often left out.

We applaud your efforts and hope it continues!

That being said we still do not have any idea what this means, but thank you all the same :)

Premarin uses estrogens derived from pregnant mare urine (hence the name).

Premarin isn’t really used now a days since estradiol (the blue one) is bioidentical to what is in humans and generally a better choice.

funnily enough, I only put the alt text in the description since I didn’t see somewhere to put alt text in my Piefed client, Blorp. Now I know that’s actually the preferred way.

      • Well, the prefered way is to do both, since screen readers work better with the alt text way.

We usually put it in the square brackets of the image and then copy the text into the body of the post too.

I’m the Blorp dev. I need to add support for adding alt text. My bad. Would also be cool to allow users that aren’t on a screenreader to view alt text. But I would have to think of the best way to make that work.

(wow, blorp dev replied to my post, act cool)

The work you’ve done on Blorp is really good. It’s my favourite UI for accessing the Threadiverse. I used Voyager for a while, but I when I tried bloorp, it was just better. One thing that Bloorp does that the Piefed UI did not do last time I tried was the ability to upload images in comments, so you’re doing pretty well there.
