Thank you for the explanation! This makes a lot of sense, I never considered that someone might choose to tactically adjust their gender presentation like that, in retrospect it’s not surprising.

If it wasn’t obvious I’m a cis person, I imagine there’re a lot of negative feelings like anxiety or even dysmorphia associated with doing that kind of thing but on the bright side it seems like it could feel like pulling off a heist as well.

It’s an unfair burden but it’s also kinda cool that you engage with and think about gender identity in a critical way, using it as a tool almost in addition to a core part of your identity.
