My cat once walked across the keyboard and managed to crash a fresh install of Debian Stable to the point where I had to reinstall.
(It locked up completely, and when I rebooted it hung with a blinking cursor).
To this day I have no idea what unholy combination of keypresses could even do that.
One of my cats sometimes likes to walk up behind the laptop, push into the lid until it closes, then sit on it.
They want to help you save battery!

I was at a friends place and his cat INSISTED on sitting on my keyboard. Completely unperturbed by the beeping every 2 seconds.
