My cats love to be NEAR the suitcase so they go in the closet whenever I open it to get a shirt. If I can’t get them out, I’ll shut the closet door and leave them in there for the day. When I come home they’re freaked out, hungry, terrified. 15 minutes later they want in that closet again.

I have a friend who’s in her 70s, transitioned after retiring. Her wife left her after she came out. Her friends and family, well. Not anymore. Her wife even took her dogs, who died without seeing her again. Like just absolute ‘fuck you’ kind of treatment. And yes in the past year or two, she’s had some really unpleasant times where she expressed interest in detransitioning, or living as genderfucked or something.

When you ask her tho, is that what she wants? She says no, she wants to be able to go out in public and not feel like a monster who everyone hates.

Protip do not retire in a red state if you’re vulnerable in any way.

Mine went missing for a day, and then at 2am a neighbor started pounding on the door - was this our cat wailing keeping them awake?

So I climbed about 30’ up a pine tree in my boxers, in the dark, unwrapped the cat from the tree, wrapped it around my bare chest (it’s terrified fully extended claws made this a snap, right into my flesh) and down we went.

She never tried that again, but did enjoy annual escapes onto the roof until the arthritis got too bad.
