  • You could say that about literally any library of books, not just RPG books. Even if I myself may not read the books regularly, I still read them at some point, OR potentially I’m like a torchbearer, I’m just taking care of all these books for the day when somebody else discovers them and is able to read them. I may be dead and gone by then, but I’m doing my part to keep the books and the hobby alive.

Had not realized there was an issue around the rights of the thing, was there some sort of falling out with Greenbrier Games? There’s a post on the BGG page from the designer announcing it, but that was 4 years ago and at the time he said he was about 60% done with Grimslingers 2. Most recent post from him was June 2022 saying he’s still working on it, but no ETA.

  • I hope so, it just feels so bleak now after everything was looking semi-promising for the past two years (Ukraine successes outnumbered Russia successes). Maybe alot of that was just Ukranian propaganda, but it feels like over the past two months or so the general momentum of the war has turned somewhat against Ukraine. You’ve got US support held up by Russia’s 5th column the GOP and you’ve got Russia launching a massive sustained assault across all fronts. Hopefully it ends up working against Russia and they burn themselves out and get opened up to a counter-attack, but after two years of constant battle reports from Ukraine, it feels like there’s a noticeable decline in good news from the front.

  • It feels like alot of stuff happening in the world now ties back to Russia and its war in Ukraine, which is itself a sort of hot focal point in a broader cold war between western nations and autocratic states. There may be individual, local factors in all these conflicts that are popping up, each with their own complex histories, but it feels like these are being exploited and pushed into flare-ups to distract and divide the West. America wants to play at being the world police, so if the autocratic states increase the amount of chaos and entropy going on in the world, America and its allies can’t focus on the true threat (not to mention the Fifth column of politicians that Russia has been financing here for some time). They’re whole MO for years has been to increase chaos and entropy, and use that to take advantage of the situation or distract from something else.

I’m guessing it doesn’t even cost Russia/Iran/China/N.Korea that much to push things into a crisis. Hamas used 3,000 fighters to attack Israel on Oct. 7 and basically stir up a hornet’s nest of regional conflict. Given how many waves of meat Russia is throwing around in Ukraine, that’s barely a blip on the radar to finance something like that, yet cause this much chaos. All you really need is dedicated individuals who’d be willing to do something like that, which wouldn’t be hard given the situation around Israel for decades.

  • What is the limit of Water to other ingredients in an open container? And what’s the limit on the “container”? If a person/living thing is sitting in an open container, could you dehydrate them by destroying the water in their body? If that’s too far, what’s the limit? Suppose it’s a mix of 50% salt and 50% water, still good? What if it’s water with dirt in it? What if it’s really muddy water? Can you destroy/hurt a water elemental with it (supposing it were in an open container)?
