cats@lemmy.world•I didn't believe how addicting Churu was till today.English
7·1 month agoCats eat by sense of smell before taste. Churu is basically thin tapioca pudding (not dairy but texture-wise i mean) with a shitload of strong scents in it that drive them absolutely wild!
Baby just needed a day to adjust, what a cutie.

2·3 months agoHaha. The precious girl I ended up with bamboozled me a bit. I picked her up at the shelter and she clinged to me and started purring, then when I got her home I found out she can’t stand being held. She’s a smart one though, I love her.

13·3 months agoI kinda wish I had been chosen by a stray, instead I went to a shelter and let one of the cats there choose me so I guess it’s close enough.

2·3 months agoYou’ve got an estimated 10 years or so before quantum computers can crack all current encryption by using Shor’s algorithm.
One of the most important quantum computing algorithms, known as Shor’s algorithm, would allow a large-scale quantum computer to quickly break essentially all of the encryption systems that are currently used to secure internet traffic against interception. Today’s quantum computers are nowhere near large enough to execute Shor’s algorithm in a practical setting, and the expert consensus is that these cryptanalytically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) will not be developed until at least the 2030s.

3·4 months agoMaybe with current quantum computers, but human technology tends to increase at an exponential rate so I doubt it will be long. Scientists are already trying to design post-quantum encryption for this very reason.

10·4 months agothese are called pass phrases and yes, they tend to be way more secure at least until quantum computers render all traditional cryptography meaningless.

Man: “Correct!”
Well mine were already wall mounted lol but you can just do like jaybone said and use wire to make it as far from the wall as you want. I just used some leftover speaker wire and some eyelets, but you can buy purpose made “picture hanging wire” that is good for 20-30 pounds or so if you want to be extra sure.
For real. My TV and my tower speakers both come with these sharktooth lookin picture hanger things on the back for exactly that purpose.
Pretty sure it’s an
owl nesting box.
Holy s, 30 bucks per knob though. I better be able to pass those down to my grandkids!
