Oh, this time the IDF isn’t lying?
Oh, this time the IDF isn’t lying?
Oh look, the New York Times uncritically reporting IDF claims as fact, despite their long history of lying.
I guess it depends, looks like you can go back 2000 years for Jews, but can’t even go less than 100 for Palestinians.
Nah, I’m just saying that the whole point of Israel/Zionism is to let a people that was dispersed by the Roman Empire 2000 years ago should be allowed to return to their land. What you just said is that they should’ve just gotten over it and made a life whatever they ended up after one generation.
Or do the rules only apply to Palestinians, not Jews?
Definitely don’t let Israel know about your anti-Zionist views, you might lose your job.
So you think a people should just relinquish their claim on their homeland if they haven’t been personally displaced?
Not to mention, if they really wanted a buffer zone, they’d use the space outside Gaza for that. It’s not built up except for some kibbutzes.
This is a land grab, just like on the West bank. The buffer zone stuff is an excuse.
Yeah, exactly. Nobody’s going to attack China even if technically they can’t cripple the entire country with their retaliation. Losing a few key cities should be enough of a deterrent.
You can take the 30 days in prison instead, and many do. If you know that military service involves being an occupying force (as opposed to just dicking around with guns like in other countries), the moral choice is to do the 30 days.
Not with this pope, but a lot of Catholics are angry about a lot of what he says.
Yeah, totally not a problem to have fascist groups armed with military gear running around in Europe. It was so much fun when that happened in the 80s.
I guess they’re the experts on genocide?
The IRA and ANC had great political outcomes through violence. Meanwhile the PLO laid down arms and Israel acts like the Oslo accords never happened.
Yeah, one of the reasons Nazis resorted to gas chambers was that they needed all the ammo to fight a war.
And the source of the intelligence is probably Israel itself?
Hasn’t the IDF been in control of the hospital for like a month, and are yet to produce any evidence (those 3 rifles and the calendar don’t count)?
I’m pretty sure it’s just part of the strategy of piecemeal grabbing of territory. First you start using the buffer zone as an actual buffer zone, then you start gradually allowing more and more use of the space until you’ve got basically a whole city right next to the border. Then you inevitably get a new ‘security incident’, which warrants the establishment of a new buffer zone, which is carved out of more previous Palestinian territory.
Ukraine doesn’t have a lot to gain by intentionally targeting Russian civilians. They would lose support from the West (because they’re not Israel), and they don’t have the resources to enact a sustained terror campaign like Russia does.
I mean, if they decided to make some channels ad-free and increased subsidies that would be acceptable IMHO. Probably not what happened here, but it’s a model used for public broadcasters elsewhere (and ad-free channels are definitely a good thing).
Seems like a confusing concept for a lot of conservatives.
