The illegal thing here is not the speech, it’s the business transaction.

Im not criticizing Reuters as a whole for leaving out defense minister Gallant’s and security minister Ben-Gvir’s comments, I just think it was a mistake to not include that in this article. The Israeli government is not just mocking the ICJ, they’re delegitimizng it.

I thought it was strange that this article limited their description of Israel’s reaction, to only Ben Gvir saying “Hague Schmague”. Multiple Israeli cabinet officials have accused The Hague of being anti-semetic since the ruling, which is much more serious than silly wordplay. Why would Reuters downplay the emotional responses to the decision?

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich gave a 25-year lease of Sevastopol to Russia in 2010 in order to give guarantees that Ukraine wouldn’t join NATO. US President Barack Obama constantly said Ukraine wouldn’t join NATO.

Nobody wanted Ukraine to join NATO up until the Russia invasion of 2014.

It was the Russians who violated the Minsk agreements. Ukraine was never going to join NATO. Russia invaded Ukraine because Putin was mad they wouldn’t join his little Eurasian Economic Union shithole. He thought that “American influence” had lost him his Ukrainian subjects, and threw a hissy fit.

Ukraine is an independent democracy, and the Russian speakers in Ukraine will never forgive Russia for slaughtering them.

Lenovo is mostly American. The Thinkpad division was bigger than Lenovo when they bought it. Many of the directors and teams are based in the USA.

Not for long. China is on path to have the same demographics crisis as Russia.

Yeah, as I understand it, there are a lot of problems with requesting asylum in the US. people are not allowed to request asylum at border crossings, crossing the border illegally often prevents asylum seekers from seeking asylum, border patrol often dont respect asylum requests, asylum seekers are detained inhumanely, and asylum courts are deliberately underfunded.

I wish there was more discussion about these issues in the us, instead of blanket statements about migrants crossing the border.
