  • Pepper was named by my mother-in-law. The cat was black and peppercorns are black.

Ludo was named for the big scary beast in the movie Labyrinth. He was a shelter dog and was very afraid of doors. In the movie, Ludo was afraid. That’s how the dog got his name.

  • Tasselhoff says all she needs is my lap and that she wouldn’t even know what to do with a rabbit slayer knife.

She used to be the most fearless and curious of kittens. But she got less kinder and more gelatinous cube as she grew up. No thought, just orange cat moving through life eating whatever didn’t move.

  • He gets exactly one shred of cheddar and no more than that. We are hyper vigilant on everyone’s weight. If you saw him you’d think he was underweight.

The only overweight one right now is Papita. I call her sausage. Wife calls her potato. She was feral TNR that we kept along with her kids. All together they were four orange girls. She used to be a tiny little momma. Now she is a sausage and still blaming the kinds even though she gained the weight long after they were weaned. I think she needs therapy before any diet plan will work.

  • I’m trying. The bugger didn’t eat for the first 3 days. I was manually feeding them tubes. But today they ate a healthy amount of food. So I’m feeling a little better about their chances.

My area is blissfully free of FIP. FIV on the other hand.

This is Frasier. He and his brother were seven weeks old when they came in Niles was happily adopted about a week ago from a cat cafe. Frazier however tested positive for FIV. Two kids from the same mom that should have had pretty much identical life circumstances up to that point. We waited a month and tested them both again just to make sure there wasn’t a false positive from was still carrying some antibodies from Mom… still FIV. So it’s taken us a bit of time to find a rescue adoption that will take an FIV+ kid. He is scheduled to leave in the middle of next month.

When we first fostered him he was about as dangerous as a mammoth. I tamed him and he went to a different foster. But it turned out I tamed him to just me. The new foster didn’t know how to handle him and he regressed. So he came back here where I knew how to handle him. It took a few months to undo his new bad attitude. Now he is chill until you decide to try and pet him. But even that is manageable.
