We’re family: Catholic, Latinos, good food, sun and beach ⛱️ who cares for the healthcare system, one day we will all be dead anyway!
With the ridiculous salaries they will be offered and the poor shift organization they will find, even foreign doctors will last very little. Unless they are forced to sign long term “slavery style” contracts with penalties if they resign earlier.
Italy is turning to private healthcare, there’s no way back. And the US demonstrate to the world that this is a winning model… right? right? oh sh*t…
This will not lead to anything good neither for LGBTQ organizations (which simply don’t care of the Pope’s pronouncements as they never did before) nor for Christianity which is already splitting around this issue. You can’t change your mind like that if you are the head of a great institution: obviously your former followers will be confused, especially after you insisted that you held the only unchangeable truth for centuries. Personally I belong to the group of people who don’t care much about what the Pope says and do not consider him a moral reference, but I’m seeing the reaction this is having in Italy where politics, economy and religion are tightly coupled.
Unfortunately, in Italy different choices were made. Not by Italians but by who won the WW2. Educating about the dangers of some ways of thinking or even condemning some people as criminals would have empowered too much the PCI (Italian communist party) and made the country lean too much towards the Eastern block, so a “general amnesty” was made and most things were forgotten. Here is the result. Good luck.
For many Italians it’s too much and too early 🤣 Maybe they will turn to more conservative confessions like orthodoxy, who knows…
Nooooo right now that he was about to bring big money to Italy to defend against immigrants/s
Wait, where have I already heard of deportations in recent history?
Well, someone will be more than happy at least and the rest will have to just cope with it. Wars are like this, if you are not strong enough and don’t chose wisely your allies. I hope the EU will welcome humanitarian refugees and receive them properly, especially neighbouring countries (like Hungary).
This happened during a historical commemorative event (for an episode happened in the 70s where some people who belonged to a far right group were killed and the perpetrators were never processed) which happens every year and nobody ever cared about it. Suddenly I’m 2024 everyone is pointing fingers.
Italy is what it is, everyone here who feels superior and judge should look at their own country: all Europe (East and West, South and North) is leaning towards the far right except Spain, so don’t feel so superior. Even not agreeing with any f#scist regime, being told that we are a “sh#t country” or other things written in the comments here is not pleasant at all.
