Yeah, I suspect someone did this for internet clicks. Hope it’s at least edible glitter. Though even that is likely a really bad idea.

My partner and I also have 2 cats at home. Litterbox is cleaned about 6 times a day. Only possible because I usually work from home. They both insist on using the same litterbox and they are both young and still have a fairly fast metabolism. 4 out of those 6 times there’s poop in the litterbox.
I always thought I’d be a crazy cat lady someday with 5+ cats. Turns out once we got #2 I understood that 2 is enough for me.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•J.K. Rowling uses Harry Potter wealth to fund anti-transgender organizationEnglish3·2 months agoThe only thing that gives me some satisfaction when I read anything about this horrific bully is that there’s no way she’s happy. People who live a happy and fulfilled life just don’t do this kind of stuff. I doubt any outside force will ever adequately punish her for all the evil she has caused but at least I rest a bit easier being sure that her mind is a sad place to be indeed.
Such a cliffhanger though. Now I need to know: Was there or was there not a play date with Piper?
Bunbury@feddit.nlto cats@lemmy.world•What games have you and your cat co-discovered thru randomness and play?English5·2 months agoOur cat is basically fearless and gets bored easily. We like closing doors in our house upstairs to keep the temperature of the house more stable. Naturally when she is in one of those rooms we don’t want to lock her in so we try to get her out. She made that into a game of chase combined with hide and seek. Eventually that grew into a game she’d initialize throughout the whole house where she’d randomly fake-lunge at us and then sprint off. Or she’d hide behind a corner to ambush us. Sometimes we’d chase her. At other times we’d run away and hide and she’d come to find us and once she found us she’d run away again.
Problem is we’d be done playing after 5 minutes. She’d want to go on for 30 minutes at least. Anyway, she doesn’t initialize anymore since we got her a kitty friend. Now she plays a similar game with him that will sometimes go on for an hour at a time.
Pavement does heat up more in the sun. Might have been a mainly sunny day.

Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English4·3 months agoThe other ones for me are: Neil Gaiman because of the recent sexual abuse/ coercion thing with multiple victims and the band Disturbed because of the political views of their lead singer.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English6·3 months agoYeah, I too just can’t unsee her influence in her work. I would have made a deliberate choice to no longer support her with my money, even if I could still enjoy HP. But it turns out my brain just won’t let me enjoy any of it anymore. Things I used to enjoy suddenly being almost revolting to me only ever happened to me with 3 different artists and she is one of them.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English5·3 months agoCouldn’t agree more. Those books were my safe space growing up. I miss being able to enjoy them. Sadly it doesn’t work that way for me anymore. They feel tainted and wrong to me now.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English2·3 months agoFair. I do really hope that the fans who think like that do make a point of differentiating between HP stuff that does line JK’s pocket and stuff that doesn’t. It’s one thing writing or reading fan fiction but a wholly different thing to buy the latest game for example. I personally lost interest because I can not unsee her influence on the world she created. Wish I could though. It used to be such a comfort when I could still enjoy it.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English8·3 months agoI think the concept is frequently called “Death of the Author”. It’s the idea that you can see a text or piece of art as entirely removed from the artist themselves. In the case of Rowling I would argue this is a bad idea as she is actively seeing support for any of her work, regardless if fictional or otherwise, as active support for her view on trans people.
Bunbury@feddit.nlto LGBTQ+@beehaw.org•Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling's Support for Anti-Trans Bill: 'Heinous LOSER Behavior'English22·3 months agoWhenever I see another example of how that woman is attacking marginalized people who are just trying to live their life multiple things happen:
-
I feel horrible for trans people - especially (former) Harry Potter fans. And I remember that her comments have real life impact directly and indirectly leading to more trans deaths both self inflicted and by violent attacks.
-
I wonder how I can best publicly boycott her work as she has stated that she sees any support for her work as people agreeing with her bullying
-
I remember that there is no way in which a well adjusted, mentally healthy, happy person would act this way. So I at least rest a bit easier knowing she’s miserable.

Gorgeous colours in this picture. Looks epic and the cat seems way too floofy for its own good.
We also have a cat who needs to stick out at least one paw to be a able to sleep. He prefers to stick at least one claw into something soft while doing that too. One of our nicknames for him is “weird little guy” and he lives up to it on a daily basis.
