Hey, good on you for not only coming to terms with yourself but also living as yourself. I only have advice that worked for me when it came to making friends: Find an activity you like, not people. The people will come. You went to a hackathon; if you like coding, honestly join some Foss projects that you want to support. Doing that let me express myself way more than anything else I’ve done. Relationships aren’t a sprint, they’re a marathon; sometimes a thing that forces you to run with someone for a while is what it takes to get that going. At least I met the people closest to me because they were doing what they want in life, and I was too.
